Introduction
AstroVellum offers astrology and numerology calculators and AI-written readings for entertainment. This Acceptable Use Policy explains what the readings will and will not cover and how the site may be used. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the site.
What Readings Are For
Readings are a way to reflect on yourself, your feelings and your choices through astrology, numerology, dreams and tarot. You are welcome to ask about your personality, your relationships, your work, your feelings about the future or what a dream might mean to you. Readings are for entertainment: they do not predict what will happen, and they are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
Topics We Do Not Read
We do not give readings, and you may not ask for readings, about:
- death: when or how you or anyone else will die;
- health: whether you or someone else is ill, diagnoses, or treatment;
- pregnancy: whether someone is or will be pregnant, or a baby's sex;
- gambling: lottery, betting or other winning numbers;
- self-harm: hurting yourself or ending your life;
- curses and spells: casting or removing curses, hexes or spells;
- controlling other people: making someone love you, come back or obey you, or following, watching, tracking or taking revenge on another person.
These are about requests, not themes: a dream in which someone dies can still be interpreted, but a question about when someone will die cannot. If you mention wanting to hurt yourself, we will not give a reading and will show you where to find help. In the US you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline); elsewhere, findahelpline.com lists free services in your country.
Other Rules
When you use AstroVellum, you may not:
- try to get medical, legal, financial or psychological advice out of the AI, or present a reading to anyone as such advice;
- enter another person's private details without their consent. Compatibility tools ask for a second person's birthday and, optionally, birth time, place and name: only enter details you are entitled to share;
- use readings to harass, threaten, embarrass or deceive anyone, or present a reading as written by a human reader;
- try to get around our content checks, for example with coded wording, misspellings or repeated attempts at a refused request, or include instructions meant to change how the AI behaves (prompt injection);
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the site, send requests in bulk or copy its content, or create several accounts to collect free credits;
- resell readings, credits or access to the site, or offer them as part of a paid service;
- interfere with the site's security or operation, or use it for anything unlawful.
How We Enforce This Policy
- Questions and other text you write, such as a dream or a tarot question, are checked by keyword screening and by an AI model before a reading is written.
- A refused request costs nothing: any credits, or the free reading, are returned.
- We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break this policy or repeatedly try to bypass our checks.
Automated checks are not perfect. If a harmless request was refused, try different words. If you see a reading that should not have been written, please tell us.
About the AI Behind the Readings
Readings are written by third-party large language models that we access through OpenRouter. AstroVellum is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the companies that make those models.
